"There's an appealling absurdity to the idea of a 'roots punk,' which I would categorize less as a 'garage rock revival' or throwback to a genuine enthusiasm for the same lo-fi ethos - though there's more than a glimmer of 21st century self-aware po-mo posturing/dicking around in here.
With a Descendants-esque fidelity to the idea of song titling, witness the following exaltations - "I Hate Vegetarians" - "I'm homophobic" - "I don't wanna know no Steven Weimer, He's a jelly fish and I' a farmer" - intercepted by some bread and butter riffs mutated from the stone age into glitzy punctuation, with some unexpected turnabouts packed in there for good measure.
Not entirely unlike being thrown down a flight of stairs for reasons you cannot remember."
